The Permission to Smile campaign, Hope Together. and it’s partners in taking forward the campaign, are not liable for any negative outcomes which might result from people taking any steps, under the auspices of the campaign, to create links with others in their neighbourhood or beyond.

In particular, all those downloading Street Association guides from this website and acting on the advice contained therein, do so at their own risk.  The campaign is not responsible for any negative outcomes which might arise from people taking any steps, under the auspices of the campaign, to create local initiatives suggested by the campaign.

All contact between people resulting from smiling and greeting, which may be said to result from acting upon the message of the Permission to Smile campaign, is undertaken at the risk of those undertaking it and, like all relationships between members of the public, is the responsibility of those who embark on those relationships.

‘Permission to Smile’ is a registered Trade Mark and its use by any individual or organization remains subject to the express permission of Hope Together, the owner of the Trade Mark, and that permission may be withheld or withdrawn at any point, without any explanation being required.  Local authorities or other organisations wishing to mount a Permission to Smile campaign in their locality, town or city may only do so with the written permission of Hope Together.

The Street Association logo is also a registered Trade Mark and its use by any individual or organization remains subject to the permission of Hope Together, the owner of the Trade Mark, and that permission may be withheld or withdrawn at any point, without any explanation being required.

The Permission to Smile name should not be used in such a way as would bring the campaign or its partners into disrepute, and should be used only for the purposes of promoting the campaign’s messages and in tune with the campaign’s purposes.  The name should not be associated with anything that might bring the campaign into disrepute.

The Street Association logo is a registered Trade Mark and it should not be used in such a way as would bring Street Associations, or Hope Together, the owners of the Trade Mark, into disrepute and should only be used for the purposes of creating community on a street or streets, in tune with the aim of generating ‘friendship, fun, belonging, a helping hand’.

The staff of Hope Together, their volunteers and their partners in taking forward the campaign will use their best endeavours to act appropriately, efficiently and safely, serving the public to the best of their ability.  However, they are not responsible for any loss resulting from any mistakes or inadequacies which might be attributed to them.
